Whether you’re Irish or not, find something green to wear and join Durbanville Hills Wines in celebrating St Patrick’s Day on Sunday, 17 March. Extending the green concept, the cellar will give a bottle of Durbanville Hills Sauvignon Blanc for every 12 empty bottles of Durbanville Hills returned to the cellar for recycling. All food to be served on the day, will be in environmentally friendly packaging. St Patrick’s Day, known for its four-leaf clovers, green decorations and leprechauns, was established as a religious holiday in the 17th century in recognition of Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland.     DURBANVILLE HILLS RECEIVES GOLD ACROSS WINE RANGE Durbanville Hills Wines received three gold medals across its three wine ranges at the 15th annual Michelangelo International Wine Awards. A panel of international judges bestowed these on the 2011 Durbanville Hills Sauvignon Blanc, the 2008 Rhinofields Merlot and the 2008 Caapmans Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot blend. The 2011 Durbanville Hills Merlot Rosé, 2009 Rhinofields Chardonnay and 2009 Rhinofields Outer Valley Sauvignon Blanc received silver.   BLENDING TO PERFECTION AT DURBANVILLE HILLS Learn the essence of creating a masterpiece along with Durbanville Hills’ red winemaker Wilhelm Coetzee as he shares the technique of blending red wines. Discover first-hand the components and nuances in crafting the best Bordeaux- and Cape-style blends. Teams of four people will be creating their own signature style red wine blend and Wilhelm will ensure that the balance and flavour profile is perfected.
