Sellah3

New York singing sensation, Sellah, is making waves in the SA music industry. His refreshing sounds have captivated South African audiences and there is no stopping him there, 2013 sees plenty of plans and developments. His sounds are definitely unique, described by GQ SA as “high-octane, fusing dub, hip hop, electro, pop and even trance”  an eclectic fusion of sounds and talent is what you can expect! Catch Sellah live at 3pm on Sunday the 10th of March 2013 performing at the Dance to Las Vegas 2013, Cape Peninsula University of Technology in Bellville. This is the only event that qualifies SA dancers for the World Hip Hop dance Championship in Las Vegas later this year. Tickets available through Computicket. To

Festivals

Origin

origin

In the heart of the Riebeek Valley, this weekend, comes Origin trance fest. The setting: river, rolling lawns, dance and trippy decor. Strictly an over 18 festival, reviews I've heard of previous Origins have involved words, "unadulterated (or maybe not) mayhem" and "way way sick". While not particularly articulate, I think these drive home the message: ineffable awesomenessity. (I know it's not a word, but let's go with it). Festival activities will include swimming, swaying, camping, drinking, dancing, perusing craft and pausing for nourishment at the food market.   While trance isn't my particular field of expertise, I know enough to know that this one gets rave (literally) reviews.

New Years

New Year in Cape Town

Alright you boozy floozies, the time is once again upon us. I know,  I know. We're getting calls from fifteen different social circles, we're examining our Christmas-wounded wallets and we can't make up our minds on how to ring in the new year. So just for you, a few options... Party karate... Where I'd be, as the clock strikes midnight, is Greenmarket Square! A massive stage, 4 Dance Floors, 5 VIP VENUES, a big bar area and state of the art sound and lighting is what's on the menu. Not to mention the good ol' al fresco. In addition the line-up is grand! Live sax and percussion, locnville, dino moran, chris jack, the plastics, etc crew, captain stu and the pretty blue guns
