Rape Crisis soap-a-thon

In celebration of 20 successful years as South Africa’s longest running, award-winning and hilarious improvisation company, you  are invited to watch South Africa's first ever Soap-a-thon a live, improvised soap opera marathon in aid of Rape Crisis. Rape Crisis provides essential services to women through counseling and court support services. Their 24-hour helpline reaches 4 500 to 5 000 survivors each year. But Rape Crisis is facing a crisis of its own: a shortfall of R1.3 million this year, which is threatening to force the organisation to close. All the proceeds raised from the Improguise soap-a-thon will contribute to alleviating their deficit and help them to continue with the daily running of the organisation. Just for

      LINE, a one-act comedy by Israel Horovitz, is the longest-running play in New York, now brought to Cape Town for the very first time by Sugar-daddy Theatre Co. Running from the 18th to the 28th of April 2012 at the Little Theatre, Orange Street; Age restriction 2-18; tickets are R80 for adults, R60 for students and pensioners, and are available through Computicket. This absurdist-style play centres on five people waiting in a queue, none of them seemingly know what they are waiting for, but all are desperate to get first place in line. The drama unravels as they squabble, trick, fight, and betray each other to get ahead. It is a character-driven play making a profound statement about society and human

Bus services in Cape Town during Soccer World Cup


Cape Town Tourism has just released details of the bus services which will be in operation during Soccer World Cup:- "Bus Rapid Transit - for the duration of the event An airport-to-city bus service will run from the newly completed bus station at Cape Town International Airport, via the N2 and Eastern Boulevard, to the main transport hub in Hertzog Boulevard in the city centre. This service will operate 24 hours a day for the duration of the event, and will cost R50 one way. It will depart every six to 30 minutes, depending on demand. The inner-city bus service, which will run 24 hours a day, will travel from the main transport hub in Hertzog Boulevard, along DF Malan Street, Table Bay Boulevard, Heerengracht, Coen
