
The new Cape Town Stadium has become an iconic landmark in the city, and has elicited a great amount of attention and interest since construction started in March 2007. The 68 000 seat stadium will host eight 2010 FIFA World Cup™ matches, but will also be widely used for other sporting events, music concerts, exhibitions and other events. Residents and visitors who want to get a better idea of what it looks like on the inside can visit the new Cape Town Visitor Centre. The centre is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Hour-long tours commence at 10:00, 12:00 and 14:00. Prices are R30 for adults, and R15 for pensioners and children under 12. School tours are also available, at R10 per child.
