Since then David has produced some top-class musical theatre productions including the tongue-in-cheek Breyani and more recently his collaboration with Taliep Pietersen in the hit stage production that traveled South Africa - “Kat and the Kings” Once again the legend returns to entertain us with his latest musical ensemble - Kalahari Karoo Blues. The festival of Diwali is celebrated by Hindus all over the world, you might recognise the more common phrase the Festival of lights. The festival of Diwali is an age old tradition of the lighting of clay lamps known as diyas which signify the victory of good over evil, knowledge over ignorance and light over darkness. Diwali is also a joyous time of year, a time to celebrate with family and friends by lighting clay lamps around your house as aromas of freshly baked biscuits and sweetmeats wander through neighbourhoods and the night skies burst alive with a colourful display of fireworks. Diwali in Cape Town is a hit every year, this year the festival is taking place at Ratanga Junction on the 27th of October 2012. Organisers

Redelinghuys Lavender Festival 1 September 2012

For those that have travelled up the N7 towards Piketberg and swung a sho’t left on the R366 you would know exactly where this quaint little Sandveld town lies. Redelinghuys was originally part of the farm Wittedrift.  Sir George Napier handed it over on 31 December 1841 to a Mr. Hendrik Koetzee, who passed away in 1848. Thereafter a Mr. J.N.L. Redelinghuys bought the farm and offered the Church a piece of the land on the farm as a gift. Redelinghuys is a small dorpie and is most commonly known for their ground roots – Yup Folks, it is potato paradise! Some of the Cape’s best root veg are sourced right there and celebrated annually with a potato festival! The next “BIG” thing to popping out of the Redelinghuys soil is the

Muso Henri Himschoot

Brynmor Band with Henri Himschoot

Who knows at the youthful age of 21 what the future holds - let alone the direction they are heading? We were very lucky to come into contact with an inspiring young guy through the beauty of serendipity. Henri Himschoot was the winner of our case of Two Oceans wine on MuthaFM last week, there was just something that stood out with this guy, so we decided to dig a little deeper to find out more. Henri Himschoot was born to be a Muso, he has been involved in the music scene since the age of 8 where he learned to play the piano at school until one day he picked up a guitar and (apt intense electric guitar strummmm) he was a natural! With a bit of guidance from a muse Henri started to put his music to paper, and is now a songwriter
