Tops Gugulethu Wine Festival 2013

The third annual TOPS Gugulethu Wine Festival is set to take place on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th of May 2013. Sparing no expense, this year the festival offers a weekend of wine tasting, music, food and wine-education. Among the highlights will be the Nederburg Taste Theatre. MasterChef South Africa Judge, Pete Goffe-Wood will be appearing alongside Nederburg winemaker Wilhelm Pienaar to take revellers on a food and wine tasting journey. The presentations are on a first come first serve basis and will be staged at 17:30, 18:30 and 19:30 on the Friday, and at 16:30, 18:00 and 19:30 on the Saturday.     WhatsUpCapeTown was privileged to join the Great Wine Capitals Best of Wine Tourism tour over the weekend, and experience, literally, the best of the winelands, while also being part of an innovative new approach to raising awareness of the initiative by blogging and tweeting about it. The tour is the brainchild of Wines of South Africa (WOSA) and the Great Wine Capitals Global Network (GWCGN) which is a network of nine major cities around the world which share a key economic and cultural asset: their internationally renowned wine regions.
