As we tick off the days on our calendars and excitement booms for Kloof Wine Estate in Darling to open their gates on the 4th of October for Daisies 2012. Once again the best in live entertainment, lifestyle exhibitions and gourmet food will be on offer, jam-packed with cutting edge, quality music, art fields and facilities aimed to cater for everyone from child care to comedic relief. The folk of Darling really love to tell stories, listen to stories and repeat stories. Stories keep them going… Some of the stories will make you fall off your chair with laughter, or cry at the shocking circumstance’s. Some stories are fascinating tales about the area, the history and it’s people, mesmerizing ghost stories, stories of the San, or some darker and decidedly risqué stories…Be sure not to miss stories at Darling this weekend from the 17th to 19th August 2012. The Darling Music Experience, Darling!

    The West Coast town of Darling is set to come alive over two weekends from 3-12 February with the 2012 Darling Music Experience. Exemplary South African and international artists will perform fresh interpretations of classical music in the light-hearted atmosphere that has distinguished this festival since its inception in 2006. Under the artistic directorship of Andreas Kern you can expect great music, packaged dynamically, ranging from classical solo recitals on cello, guitar, marimba and organ to be a jazzed-up gig by a brass quintet. Furthermore: the recorder will team up with a guitar, the cello with a piano, the marimba with a penny whistle, the lute with a piano and a most talented soprano with a

A weekend away, Darling?

This weekend, the charming Darling of the Western Cape, snatches up the last fleeting moments of ripening weather, to bring us the Darling Music Experience. The donkey-drawn-carriage streets, in amongst swells of Darling vineyards, will be awash with merriment and music from Thursday 'til Sunday. Thursday 11th features concert pianists, while Friday 12th promises wine estate choir performances and rising stars of the Artscape National Youth Music Competition. Saturday the 13th brings a street-side screening of the documentary "El Systema" - documenting the efforts of Evita se Perron. This is followed up with a wicked wine and food paired luncheon, wine-tasting, a musical rally for kids and a duel between dynamic

That time of year is drawing near again! This year, Rocking The Daisies falls over October 9th to 11th and tickets are already selling like hot cakes! (The notion of highly demanded hot cakes baffles me, but that is how the saying goes). For those who haven't been before, what to expect? Everything the name promises - Rocking The Daises. It's a green-keen festival and one of the best of its kind.
