Goldfish Submerged Sundays

Goldfish need little introduction, the dynamic duo consisting of Dominic Peters and David Poole have been providing lovers of dance music, their take of über cool tunes since 2006 when they released their first album “Caught in the loop”. It all started in a bedroom in Cape Town both Dom and Dave were studying music, with studying came tight budgets and frivolous lifestyles but these two guys knew they had a good thing going with musical talents combining double bass, a saxophone and a couple of synths, they were set to groove. Their hugely successful album launch found them maintaining a gruelling international tour schedule that saw them play sold-out shows from Miami to Moscow, from Sydney Opera House to Sao Paulo,

About Cape Town

From Beaches to Bistros: iKapa Delivers!

Cape Town is one of the most unique cities in South Africa – in terms of its mixed population, mild weather and varied landscape. Because it’s on the very tip of the country (at the meeting place of the Indian and Atlantic oceans), it’s a microcosm of culture, energy and idiosyncrasy that lies in the cool shadow of Table Mountain. Cape Town provides some of Africa’s most exciting all inclusive holidays, partly because the oceans, mountains, fynbos and wine regions are within spitting distance of one another; meaning visitors can safari, swim, taste wine or hike in picturesque settings, and enjoy world-class accommodation and amenities. South Africa’s “Mother City”

There is a new Biokinetics Practice now available in Camps Bay called LIFE THROUGH MOVEMENT, and you heard it here! The team at 17 on Loader has the lowdown for the Cape Town crowd. It is run by a Biokineticist Carl Reader.  He believes our modern day lifestyles and work have placed tremendous stress on the body and has compromised our body’s natural way to move.  Life through movement offers education on how to move and use your body correctly which provides a natural way to improve posture, relief pain and enhance your sports performance. The new exercise system focuses on using the correct muscles in the right sequence which will allow the body to restore itself. All the exercises are functional and safe to do and can

Tuesdays are Trouble

Tuesdays are trouble in Cape Town, and here's why... A pre-emptive intervention approach to mid-week stress is on the Mothercity's Tuesday To-Do List. Forget weekends in the culture of the Cape - Tuesdays are a full force party day. For those keen to kick it up to some commercial radio hits with students, lumo-lovers and bachelorette partiers, "Summer of 69" style, the Claremont strip is watering hole of choice.  Claremont favourites include Springboks, Tiger Tiger and  Tin Roof. Tiger Tuesday’s promise free drinks ‘til ten and top of the chart tracks to get you swaying. The plush interiors of this well-designed club allow ample bar space and a sunken, dense dance-floor. Be sure to arrive collared, smart-shoed and on time -

Out of Town

In Bartholomeu Dias’ footsteps …

Two weeks ago, at last the day had come: Clear the decks for the next adventure in South Africa, the country in which I work and live as a volunteer in the Guest House 17 on Loader. How can I describe my trip? One could try it like this: I spent all day long in a bus only to visit a rocky steep slope that sticks in the water like probably millions others do, too. However, one could try it like this: I experienced a marvellous 8 hours with Swiss, Englishmen and Australians on a journey around the famous Cape peninsula at the southern point of Africa. Our tour guide company, African Eagle, organized a captivating tour. We started our trip in Cape Town in full sunshiny weather. The route led us along the Atlantic coast towards

Auf den Spuren des Bartolomeu Dias …

Kapstadt, Suedafrika, Kap-Punkt, Kirstenbosch, Kap-Halbinsel, Rundreise
