Johnny Cash Tribute Show – Pilgrimage

Johnny Cash Tribute Show Pilgrimage

Johnny Cash was and still is undoubtedly one of the most influential country musicians of the 20th Century, recognized by his deep, distinctive bass-baritone voice, and for the "boom-chicka-boom" sound of his Tennessee Three backing band. His signature classics "I Walk the Line", "Ring of Fire", "One Piece at a Time" and "A Boy Named Sue" will continue to get toes tapping for centuries to come. Five local musicians and Johnny Cash fans have recreated that magical era and the sound that influenced many a musical journey, creating the Johnny Cash Pilgrimage which is set to tour the Western and Eastern Cape this December. The Waterfront Wine Affair

Cape Town's been very quiet this week - we've been nursing our once-flourishing social calendars and wishing for sunburn. But what we have fast forgotten is that winter brings wine, fireplaces and excuses for shared body-heat...  Until Friday, The V&A spends the week swaying with the inebriated influence of dozens of boutique and reserve wines. With curling leaves and early evenings comes the annual V&A Wine Affair. The backdrop of a Table Mountain-marked cityscape makes The Waterfront's look out a perfect rooftop for some indulgent-out-of-doorsness.    This well-loved tasting/sipping soiree is a palate party.  Think sushi, oysters, imported cheeses and charcuterie... the menu boasts the

Hinds Brothers to sing at Joubert-Tradauw, Barrydale.

Hinds Brothers to play at Joubert -Tradauw

Aden and Wren Hinds, both singer/songwriters, unite to form an incomparable duo. Tired as they are with the dictated trends of the music scene, the Hinds Brothers intend to bring a revolution in the truest sense. It consists of a transformation of conciousness, from the age of gross materialist mass consumption we are presently experiencing, to trancendental reality. By contact with this music, we hope you will become inspired to rise above the ignorance of the material world, and begin to understand truth. Who are we, why are we here, and what is it we should be doing… Their acoustically based songs are crafted in the classic mold, inspired by the great musical renaissance of the 60’s & 70’s.
