The Animal Rescue Organisation, which was established to address the suffering of animals in informal settlements around Cape Town, is appealing for help after a devastating fire damaged its offices. The fire, which was caused by a defective light fitting in the ceiling of the administrative wing, destroyed valuable office furniture, computer equipment and educational literature, causing thousands of rands worth of damage.
