World renowned Pete – Tong,  global ambassador of Electronic Music and host of the world's most listened to electronic music radio shows (the 'Pete Tong Show' and the infamous 'Essential Mix') will kick-off the festivities at Ballito`s famous NYE street party before jetting off to Cape Town`s V&A Waterfront to welcome in 2013 on his double-city gig night. 5FM will be linking the two cities up simultaneously via live satellite technology at both venues (Ballito’s New Year’s Eve street party in the Village Centre and the Breakwater Lodge rooftop at the V&A Waterfront). SA has already been treated to some of the biggest visiting international music acts this year. In fact, it is bracing itself for even more superstars in the coming months. 2013 looks to be no different, as one of the biggest groups ever is set to rock Joburg and Cape Town early in the new year. The Red Hot Chili Peppers are coming. Premier concert organisers Big Concerts has confirmed that the 29-year-old, multi-award-winning rock super group will be performing at the famous soccer complex on February 2nd 2013. The legendary quartet will be in South Africa for two shows - the second is in Cape Town at The Cape Town Stadium on 5 February, giving local fans the chance to experience their distinctive songwriting, heavy bass grooves

Sun kissed surfers, snug in their wetsuits with that look – the look of intense appreciation of Mother Nature’s gift of waves that can make or break their moves on the water. Supertubes is the break in the water and location of the annual Billabong Pro in Jeffery’s Bay, this BEAUT is one of mother natures divine phenomenon’s - horizontal barrels of water collecting velocity and rolling down hundreds of meters towards the surf. J.Bay  sees thousands of surfers locally and internationally coming to hit the surf for its awesome and unique waves it pushes

As "Cooler as Ekke"has monopolized African airwaves, Afrikaans, Mothercity-made Jack Parow, has become one of South Africa's local loves. At the early end of the decade, musical movements that tore Afrikaans music apart from religious zeal, resulted in the Belville Rock city phenomena - and so spawned bands the likes of Fokofpolisiekar,aKing, and Van Coke Kartel. Locnville consists of two twin brothers, apparently nephews of Charlie Chaplin's who moved here in their youth from New York. They've been tyring to break into the South African music scene for sometime now, and after becoming a favourite feature on 5FM, Locnville finally launches at Ivy League tonight!  Their voices have a baritone timbre that reverberates through a room, and their music is pretty easy listening for its genre.  Take a listen here and come along if you like.
