Famed also for his somewhat tumultuous off-again-on-again relationship with Rihanna and a bar brawl with Drake, the Grammy® winner is set to rock Capetonian fans on the 19th and 20th December from 8pm. Aimed to coincide with the release of his 2012 album Fortune, his fifth studio album Chris Brown performs on South African soil for three concerts only, after a whirlwind tour of Europe, including appearances in Copenhagen, Paris, Stuttgart, Stockholm and Basel, as well as the UAE.     As part of the international commemoration of the life and work of the controversial German film maker Rainer Werner Fassbinder, two of his films, a documentary regarding his working methods, and a stage production will be showcased in Stellenbosch at  Aan De Braak theatre. The stage adaptation of Fassbinder’s Die Bitteren Tranen der Petra von Kant by playwright and director Charles J. Fourie will be performed by the talented young actresses Hilda Cronje, Cintaine Schutte, Carin Bester and Nieke Lombard.     The story of the sinking of the SS Mendi - one of the worst marine disasters in history - hits the Baxter in February for a short season. One of the greatest tragedies in the history of the South African military will be vividly brought to life when Did We Dance: UkutshonakoMendi (The Sinking of the Mendi) hits the Baxter Golden Arrow Studio from 23 February to 10 March at 7pm nightly with matinees on 25 February and 10 March at 2pm. A formidable creative team and eight-member cast has been assembled to tell the epic story of South African soldiers trapped on the SS Mendi which sank in British waters during World War I in 1917. The script is based on the book Black Valour by Norman Clothier. For discounted
