We have been overwhelmed by the response from local businesses who have thrown their weight and support behind our very own "local is lekker" contestant Liam Kelly. We wrote an article earlier this weekend about What'sUp with Liam - THE CapeTonian set to take the world by storm. Here's what we had to say: Liam Kelly – a CapeTonian with a mission – is set to go places –Literally! Having recently entered into the STA Travel World Explorer Competition, Liam is down to the wire having just been selected as one of the top 5 of over 4000 applicants countrywide. What’sUp has the utmost faith that our readers are going to ensure that winning this one is pretty much “in the bag” (which is already packed!). So What’sUp for

The verdict is out. We now know who is playing where. The search is on for space in Cape Town - and the prices are rising. Here at 17 on Loader Guest House in Cape Town, we are being inundated with enquiries. Interestingly enough though, is that a large percentage of enquiries are coming in from America. Will preview them on the blog from time to time. And with summer fever taking hold in Cape Town, and temperatures are rising in EVERY respect, why not come to our roof deck and enjoy a cold shower?

“Loads of fun on Loader Street”

Loads of fun on Loader Street” submitted by "travelprofessor19" Kentucky Great guesthouse: safe, clean, friendly, centrally located, good deal for your money. The owner will help you with all your needs. In the morning you get a nice breakfast in a basket, which they leave in front of your door. You can eat it on the rooftop, in your bed, or at the main dining table. They will also arrange for reliable and safe airport transportation. I've recommended the place to several friends: single women, gay and straight males, older and younger. I'll definitely stay there again. My ratings for this hotel Value 5/5 Rooms 5/5 Location 5/5 Cleanliness 5/5 see tripadvisor reviews of 17 on loader guest

Review of 17 on Loader Guest House

Review by: Vicki Peaple, London (stayed: June 2009) - sa-venues Even in the cold and rain, 17 on Loader was a lovely place to stay in Cape Town. Beautifully clean rooms, very relaxed atmosphere and breakfast baskets outside the room in the morning a lovely touch. We really appreciated the mini guided tour on arrival (!) and the friendliness of all the staff. Location was also excellent being within reach of a few nice bars and restaurants, not too far from the Waterfront and within striking distance of the city centre. Next time we'll come in summer when we can fully appreciate the roof top. A much nicer place to stay than a faceless hotel! Read sa-venues link here www.17loader.za.net Or see tripadvisor
