The Dogs Bollocks is snuggled between two buildings in a garage-come-alley at no 6 Roodehek Street, Gardens, just off Buitenkant Street. The brainchild behind the Dogs Bollocks burgers is none other than esteemed restaurateur Nigel Woods. His hands on approach keeps him busy flipping the limited amount of fifty burgers a night. The Portraits Live

      Following the massive success of their Glastonbury Festival appearance last summer, London-based duo The Portraits are celebrating their increased profile with a very special date at the Alma Café in Cape Town on 15th February, returning to the city that shaped their sound.   With three albums under their belt, The Portraits, launched in 2005 by singer Lorraine Reilly from County Galway in Ireland and Bristolian classical pianist Jeremy Millington, have built a strong following in the UK and France. Their warm sound draws on the diverse backgrounds of the band’s members, mixing traditional folk with musical theatre, 1970s pop-rock with jazz, singer-songwriter and classical styles. Christmas Charity Market

  Constantia Village Courtyard,  in the true spirit of Christmas,  has invited 6 widely diverse and extremely deserving charities to participate in a festive Christmas Charity Market on the Square on Saturday 17th December from 9 am to 2 pm.  The public is urged to come and support these worthy organizations.  There will be a range of Christmas cards, inexpensive gifts, good quality second hand books, yummy cupcakes and fun stocking fillers for sale.  And there will be delicious food to try and buy, and a live jazz band to enjoy while you sit and sip a cappuccino under the bedouin tent on the Square. MICHELANGELO CCL LABEL INTERNATIONAL WINE AWARDS ANNOUNCES BEST FAIRTRADE WINES On Friday 9 September 2011, the winners of the two Fairtrade trophies were announced at the Michelangelo CCL Label International Wine Awards (MIWA) ceremony at the Lord Charles Hotel in Somerset West. The Best Fairtrade Red goes to Stellenrust Timeless Red Blend 2008, and the Best Fairtrade white goes to Bosman Family Vineyards’ Sur Lie Chenin Blanc 2011. In addition, the Fairtrade Palesa Sauvignon Blanc 2011 (marketed by the uniWines Group) won a Gold Medal.
