Nestled on the banks of the Breederiver, surrounded by the Langeberg Mountain Range lies the humble dorpie town of Bonnievale, each year the first weekend of November is set aside for the annual Bonnievale Bonanza a festival for all to come and enjoy the beauty and joy of festivities in the Breede Valley from Friday the 2nd to Sunday the 4th November 2012.
The Bonnievale Bonanza is the perfect excuse to escape hustle and bustle of the city for the weekend, kicking off at 9am on Friday with a tractor-driver-dash and a Potjie Competition that the whole family can enjoy. There are heaps of lucky draw prizes to be won as well as great prizes for the potjie masters of each category.
The whole weekend is jam-packed with sporting events and challenges such as mountain biking, trail races and 4x4ing. The festival grounds based at the High school will have a great variety of food and craft stalls and lekker live entertainment sporting true Afrikaans talent. If you fancy yourself a sing-star enter the karaoke competition! Got a super-star kid? Enter them into the talent competition or if you feel your wife is an athletic stunner, grab her an entry for Bonniebabe! Alternatively just simply relax and take it easy… hop on board a Breede River cruise, or stroll through the awesome vintage and veteran car exhibition.
