"The overall objective of today – Mandela Day is to inspire individuals to take action to help change the world for the better, and in doing so build a global movement for good. Ultimately it seeks to empower communities everywhere." “Take Action; Inspire Change; Make Every Day a Mandela Day.”
We are humbled to see the world on the interweb this morning united and standing together for a great cause celebrating Madiba, his influence on us of encouragement to being a better person by doing good.
Mandela Day is all about giving and let’s face it, Nelson Mandela fought for social justice for 67 years – he's asking us to start with a mere 67 minutes. 67 minutes of your time is nothing in the bigger picture. Make some sarmies and hand them out, clean out your closet and donate all your unwanted goods to a home. The best things in life are free – It costs nothing to smile at a stranger – make someone else’s day by exposing your pearly whites. The Big Issue is close to our hearts, GO ON! Get out and get one. For some inspiration check out the activities you can get involved in here.
From all of us at Whats Up, Happy Birthday Tata Madiba! We hope your day is filled with love and happiness. xxx
