Big Fight Cape Town
East City Boxing is presenting Big Fight Cape Town at Trinity on 5 April 2012, with its amateur team and most talented and rising recreational fighters ready to show that they're really big softies beneath all the brawn.
Each competitor will be fighting for a local charity, stepping into the ring not only to defend themselves, but to fight for the less fortunate. Each charity will be represented with a stand on the fight night.
Charities include African Brothers Football Academy; Scalabrini Centre; Baphumelele Child Headed Households; Childhood cancer foundation of SA; The Sunflower Fund; People Living With Cancer – Cancer Buddies; Mylife Project; Fisantekraal Animal Welfare; Molo Songololo and Dynamo Rope Skippers.
Spectators will bet money on the fighter they think will be the last man standing, with great prizes for the right pick. The winner of the fight takes all the money purchased and donates it to his charity.
The event will feature 10 explosive boxing fights, creative musical performances by a range of artists and DJs, world champion level rope-skipping, Cape Town's top MC-faces – and of course the opportunity to make a difference.
