Renowned Photographer Klaus Tiedge's Debut Exhibition Opens at the Cape Quarter – 31 March 2011
German-born Klaus Tiedge has been a prominent figure in the field of commercial photography for more than 20 years, having worked in numerous countries including India, Japan, Brazil and the USA. For the past ten years,Klaus has been living in South Africa with his family and since 2008, has shelved his commercial endeavors in order to pursue his passion for fine art photography.
Martin Osner Fine Art Gallery is proud to host Klaus's first fine art photography exhibition, entitled Pride of Africa. The exhibition features striking animal portraits shot in the diverse landscapes of South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, and Kenya's spectacular Maasai Mara.
Embracing the “modern digital darkroom”, Klaus has successfully traversed the boundaries between painting and photography. His editioned wildlife photographs have a unique stylized quality to them. Tiedge displays the remarkable ability to give equal attention to the animals and the environment in which they are captured.
“Klaus's master lighting, brilliant composition and technical perfection are emblematic of an artist who has obviously done his time in the commercial arena,” says Martin Osner, who is in his own right a master fine art photographer.
“His impressions portray the animals as if they are being photographed for the front cover of a glossy magazine”, says gallery curator, Sulona Reddy.
The exhibition opens officially on the evening of 31 March 2011 and runs until 26 April 2011.
