If you've ever looked across the Cape Flats at the jagged range of mountains in the far distance and wondered about them, why not go explore them?
Mountain Guided Expeditions offers guided hikes in the Boland area, which is only about a 40 minute drive from Cape Town. All hiking expeditions create a sense of remote wilderness, featuring steep cliffs, majestic views, spectacular fynbos and crystal clear rock pools and waterfalls.
The waterfalls and rock pools are a welcome respite from the hot summer temperatures.
The outings are tailored for the hikers, from the inexperienced to the experienced, photographers and mountain lovers to just those looking for a good outing.
The guide, Bobby, grew up in the area and is knowledgeable about the surrounding mountains as well as weather conditions. He is a certified mountain guide and first aider in accordance with the requirements of the Department of Labour. He is also certified on how to approach dangerous animals if the need to do so should ever arise.
Hikes are offered in the early mornings and late afternoons. Most take between 5 and 7 hours.
Advance bookings are encouraged, so that hiking permits can be arranged.
